A NEW BABY JESUS
Last year here in LaGrande someone stole the baby Jesus. Right out of his manger, on Christmas eve. The Lady of the Valley Catholic Church had a nativity scene for many years, which they displayed all of December. And now the baby was gone
Many people in town wondered how they could help, but a group of youth from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints moved right in and did something about it. They began raising money to purchase a new baby Jesus figure.
*The LDS youth and their adult leaders collected 2,000 pop cans, enough to buy a new baby for $120.00. So this year, 2008, on Christmas eve, the baby Jesus will be right back where He belongs, in the manger with Mary and Joseph. Wise men still seek him, and we all should be wise.
