What a beautiful child!
Seems like Heavenly Father just sends
all the cute ones to our family.
Thanks

I guess love is a feeling that you feel
down deep inside
when you see your Dad come home and his arms are open wide
and then he picks you up and hugs you
I'm so glad my Dad loves me
and we will be together always
whether on earth
or eternity

I guess love is a feeling when my Mom rubs oil on me
after I have had a bath and she sings soft
I see that she is happy
'cause she smiles a lot
and that makes me feel good
I think I'm going to like this place
'tho I never thought I would
when I was in that tiny dark-filled room!

I had to wait so long!
'til heaven opened up the door
and I could hear earth's song
This is where I belong

We were out for a drive, pulled off the road
to change drivers
and there hidden behind some trees was this
gorgeous meadow of yellow flowers.
Luckily we had the camera close by
and here we are!
Back at home, I looked out in the back yard just as
a deer jumped over the fence.
I watched her until she headed for my rhubarb plant,
then I went out and chased her off. Actually I should have done it long ago,
because she has eaten off all the apples in the front
yard tree, along with the leaves and branch tips.
But deer are really fun to watch.
Right in your own back yard
I'm afraid to look in the orchard and see what's missing.

COMPANY STOPS BY
On Friday Allen and Georgie met us for lunch.
They were on the way home from a funeral in Hood River area.
Been a long time since we've spent time with them,
since they live in far away Utah
where we seldom go.
In fact lately we seldom get far from home.
This is a shot of Dee and Allen, who are both very thin
compared to past years. Handsome and healthy!

We had lunch at THE SMOKEHOUSE
our favorite spot because they have a back room
where you can hear yourself talk.
Other than that,
things are pretty quiet here,
orchard growing,
the cherry tree is almost ripe,
and we're all feeling well.

A nice day.
Even the weather was good,
but for this coming Sunday we are heading into
98! Whew!
Stay in the house
except for church

We had a really nice surprise last Saturday.
My cousin, Winnafred May Smith
who I hadn't seen since high school in 1953
came to Baker for her class reunion
with her husband Austin.
We met them at Anthony Lake, and spent a pleasant two hours
catching up on the "olden" days. Her dad is Uncle Sterling,
my Dad's brother.

Dee says we look a lot alike. We used to
play violin together, walking to the music school
every day after school.
It's sad how out of touch we get with old friends
and cousins. A highlite was looking at Daddy's old
family photo book.

Good times.

I may have told you this before, but just a reminder. The first thing I look at every day is
this blog. Her name is Stephanie Nielsen (therefore the name of the blog)
She was in a plane crash a couple of years ago and suffered massive burns.
Her sister kept the blog open during her recovery days in Arizona, until she could take over again.
They are LDS , living in Provo. I can't tell you how they make me count my blessings every morning. It is fascinating to read.

So if you have some free time (make some free time) follow their story.
The interesting thing is her parents, Bro. and Sister Clark just left to be the mission president
in St. Louis, Missouri, where my grandson, Elder Jason Aldridge is serving.

Check it out.
