A REASON NOT TO MESS WITH CHILDREN
A kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. . As she got to one little girl working diligently, she asked what she was drawing. The girl replied " "I'm drawing God" The techer paused and said, "But no one knows what God look like" Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing the girl replied "They will in a minute"
The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note and posted on the apple tray. "TAKE ONLY ONE. GOD IS WATCHING" Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of cookies. A child had written a note "TAKE ALL YOU WANT. GOD IS WATCHING THE APPLES"
I BELIEVE THERE ARE ANGELS AMONG US
SENT DOWN TO US FROM SOMEWHERE UP ABOVE
THEY COME TO YOU AND ME IN OUR DARKEST HOUR
TO SHOW US HOW TO GIVE, TO SHOW US HOW TO LIVE
TO GUIDE US WITH THE LIGHT OF LOVE
I'm sure we all have angels, whether they come from far away to deliver a message from God, or if they live in our own house. In fact, we all have an angel inside us, who is dying to come out more often. In a book by Karen Goldman THE ANGEL BOOK she says,
Pay attention to your own loving, lovely inner voice. It will keep telling you the truth: it will keep you from harm. Right in the middle of a heated situation, stop. Be an angel and listen. You will be told how best to proceed. It's as simple as that. This angel will keep JOY within your reach. No matter how tired of it all you may sometimes be, there is an angel inside you who is wide awake and raring to go.
EMANUEL SWEDENBORG is one of my favorite great philosophers from the 1700s. He said:
I am well aware that many will say no one can possibly speak with spirits and angels so long as he is living in the body; many say it is all fancy, others that I recount such things to win credence, while others will make other kinds of objection. But I am deterred by none of these: for I have seen, I have heard, I have felt.
I agree with Emanuel: I have seen, I have heard, I have felt, I have been one
When I last wrote, we were still in cold Idaho Falls and not feeling as good as we had hoped. Well, that has now changed. We are back home in LaGrande, and today it's 72 degrees. Linn and David have the orchard all pruned, with a bit of help from Dee, and now it's just in full blossom, which is the best time of the year for beauty.
We had been back for about a week when Dee was out there pruning, and now the snow on OUR mountain (Mt. Emily) is almost gone, tulips and daffs are in bloom, and our world looks good. Home is so nice after you've been gone. We loved being at Karen's while Dee was recovering, but now it's time to be here, and decide what we want to do next with our lives.
One day last week, we went out on the back porch and sat in the swing for 45 minutes and did nothing but visit. In past days, I could keep Dee there for maybe 5 minutes then he'd be off to some yard work he heard calling him. A change of pace will be most welcome, which is required after heart surgery. We are so grateful to Heavenly Father for giving us another chance at life together.
Mt. Emily doesn't REALLY belong to us, but it's just right out there, so we claim it.
Buttercups, it seems to me
