Karen came from Idaho Falls for a quick week-end of pear canning and apple
picking. She came all alone, so she was a kid and not a Mom like usual at home.
Most of the cascades weren't ripe, but we did bartletts. Cascades have red skins,
but taste just like bartletts. In fact, that is my favorite.
Then we picked apples, and made some apple pie filling. and a great apple crisp. It was really fun to have her here,
even though it was for a short time. In all our 27 years with the orchard,
she has never been here at picking and canning time. Michigan was just too
far away. We also went to church, and she helped me teach
Relief Society
So she headed back on Monday with a car full of fruit, some in jars and some
boxes to drop off along the way to other kids.
Thanks for coming Karen, everything is more fun if you're not doing it alone!
We love you!
