great knowledge for grandparents
Greetings from Ucon, Idaho. We are settling into our house, and love it here. Mark is 11 minutes away, (Sunday driving) and Karen is three blocks around the corner. This has been an interesting day.
At 10 we went to the hospital for Dee's I V injection of rocephin, a strong anti-biotic to kill the blood infection he had before we left LaGrande, He has 23 more to go, every day for 6 weeks. and he's feeling a lot better.
At 1:30 our new Bishop came by to interview us for temple recommends, so we can go to Sarah's sealing next week-end. We had a nice visit, and we feel welcomed in. About 5 Stake President Davis came to sign our recommends. About 1/2 hour, a nice get acquainted visit. It was good of them to come to the house. Bishop lives one street away.
David left about noon with Gina Newberger Tidwell, my neice, for Boise. Gina's daughter Amy got married on Saturday. Beth came up and she and Karen and I went to the reception which was very nice. Sherrie and Brad stopped by for 1/2 an hour on their way home. So all in all we've had a LOT of company.
Back to David: he is picking OLD Blue, the 1957 Chevy truck which we've had fixed to bring here. Dee says we'll fast and pray that they make it. He'll be gone a few days.
Then on Wed. and Thursday, Ruth and 4 kids will be here, after two days in Provo with Char and Robert. (still honeymooners) so it will be fun to see them.
Sarah's wedding is set for Friday, luncheon then sealing here, a reception Saturday night in Meridian where Jeff is from. So Karen's house is bustling with activity, candle centerpieces, etc. plus she has been working long hours to be able to take some days off for the wedding.
We have automatic sprinklers which are a blessing. We have a lot of lawn, David has worked hard, and the stake President said it has been resurrected. David also built a machine shed in the yard, and is planning a fence with the next door neighbor. He has been really busy, and loves to work.
Dee and I on the other hand try to unpack a couple of boxes a day. Since the house is much smaller than the one in LaGrande, I'm throwing a lot out or to DI, or to storage.
We bought two new sofas and three tables, and a 4th of July special threw in a 51 inch TV, which is very nice. First new furniture we've bought since early 1970s in Fresno.
The house is compact, and mostly new, and we have absolutely NO trees of any kind.
Heavenly Father has blessed us greatly, and our kids have been wonderful with help.
The new owners in LaGrande are enjoying fixing up the house, paint, flooring, and of course the arrival of their new baby, Crason Glen Hutchins.May they have many many years of good times, as we have had.
Tonight we joined Mark's family for their weekly Sunday supper at Mark's house. A nice way to keep in touch.
My computer was off for a couple of weeks, but I'm back on now.
