Today was a red-letter day. After about 20 years of saying I was going to publish my book on manic-depression, I actually mailed in part of the manuscript to Deseret Books. It may take up to 8 weeks til they read it, and then if accepted , publication would take at least a year. But the main thing here is: I FINALLY QUIT SAYING IT AND DID IT! I also found out that I need to do more writing about the past 6 years, if I want it to be up to date. Along the way, I found a notebook from the early 1990s with poetry in I haven't read in years. It's like reading what someone else wrote~~~~~~the ME in past years. I love journal-keeping (and finding)

This is a lovely little video, please watch it

Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith: Liz Lemon Swindle’s Unfinished Painting

OPERATION SUCCESSFUL After 4 trips to Spokane, we finally got the operation over with.

Dr. Nye removed a section of Dee's stomach that had a blockage

and re-routed the intestine to the stomach

Linn took us and stayed for 3 days, then went home to work

I was smarter this time around, and didn't stay at the hospital

every night. went back to the motel twice, shared a night with Linn,

and Brooke came and spent another night.

Dee was happy to see a familiar face, the hospital is quite confusing,

especially since they moved him to a new room after 2 days.

Brooke and Miranda visited twice.

They live an hour away in Courd'lene
It was fun to see them, been a long time

Up and walking on the third day

A little smile through the pain.

Dee was in the hospital 7 days, then in a motel for 2 nights,

then home with Linn to our own beds.

He's doing quite well now, after 2 weeks, but still in pain

and really tired. But we expect great improvement

in 4-6 weeks. Thank heaven

THE FLOOD

Jacob 1:7

We labored that he might enter into his rest

So, the day after we got home, we found the basement flooded.
because

3 Nephi 14:27
and the rain descended and the floods came and the winds blew
and beat upon the house

We had two hoses going

Our first look at the basement

Luckily, we have learned from past floods

to put things up high, so not much loss except one mattress

Linn and David got into action

David rented a pump in town

The water finally started to go down and the pumps ran all night

because snow melted above us, and there are floods all over town.

David under the stairs where the pumps are

Thanks heaven for David and Linn, so Dee could rest.

JACKSON FULLER ON MISSION IN PERU

Latest news from Jackson is about his recent baptism." The boy's name was Roger and my companion did the baptism. First of all the water was freezing cold. He did the baptism and the first time Roger's toe came up. So he did it again. Which is normal. The second time it went good and they came out and we were getting ready to confirm him when the ward president asked him his full name and it was different from when he told my companion before the baptism! so they had to go change back into their wet clothes and do it all over again! The baptism service was almost 3 hours long because they do tons of food and have a party afterwards. But it was really cool and a really good experience" ALL THE FAMILY AT HOME ARE REALLY PROUD OF JACKSON, AND ARE BLESSED BECAUSE HE IS SERVING THE LORD.

This is a video of the church in Joplin where they were hit by the tornado last week. Amazingly two walls were left standing, one with the tithing envelopes and the other with a picture of Christ washing the feet of the apostles. And it wasn't even crooked. God moves in mysterious ways!
